Print Engraving

At first, I worked solely on recycled paper pulp. With time I learnt to engrave upon it - a successful combination.

I had the honour to learn engraving techniques from the great artist and teacher Dan Krieger, may he rest in peace.

I print the engraving upon the recycled paper - an ancient method which was used before the invention of printing. Contrary to the common usage of a series of identical prints, I have an insatiable urge to look for the difference in each print. During the creative process I take a plate which I have prepared for the printing, play with it, engrave it and wound it. I spread paint over it and then print upon the paper that I have created. How much control do we really have over things? I am attracted to the randomness through which the processes occur whereby each paper gives a different result, and then I go to another paper and another attempt and so on and so forth.
